OLLI Presents “Keeping You Safe – When Seconds Count: Lubbock EMS”

Did you know that this year within the city of Lubbock, EMS team members responded to approximately 3,400 calls every month, which translates to almost 113 calls each and every day? Lubbock EMS team members will share with us how their department is organized and staffed as well as situations when it is appropriate to call 911 and what should be done before EMS arrives on the scene.

Lubbock EMS has approximately 120 employees and 10 full-time ambulances covering the city. There are two full-time FOX trucks that are staffed with are first responder units only. These trucks are used to send extra resources to critical calls where the paramedics need additional help. Their Communications Center is ACE accredited by the International Academies of Emergency Dispatch - only seven dispatch centers in Texas have obtained this level of excellence.
