This class will introduce learners to all aspects of academic publishing. We will discuss the history and mission of Texas Tech University Press and explore the three major stages of academic publishing: 1. Acquisition (including submission, peer review and approval of manuscripts); 2. Editorial, design and production; and, 3. Marketing (including release, publication and book promotion). For each stage, the class will review stories about actual titles published by Texas Tech University Press.
