The Undergraduate Writing Center at TTU is recruiting consultants for Spring 2024. We are looking for students who are interested in helping their fellow Red Raiders become better writers. The Writing Centers of Texas Tech University welcome applicants from all disciplines, cultures, and language backgrounds.
Consultants in their first semester work 6-10 hours a week, which includes a mandatory one-hour meeting for professional development each week. Consultants' duties include attending paid training that takes place the week before classes start, participating in ongoing training during the first few weeks of the semester, leading consultations with students, attending weekly professional development staff meetings, and other duties, which may include leading orientation sessions and working on projects of interest. Consultants' work schedule stays the same from week 1 until the end of the semester, and their hours are scheduled around their class schedule, research hours, and/or any other extracurricular activities.
