The Daily Toreador will host an event in recognition of Student Press Freedom Day. Student journalists on university campuses throughout the U.S. will host similar events this month to raise awareness of the challenges student journalists face and remind the campus communities of the First Amendment freedoms we all enjoy. The DT will distribute free DT-themed T-shirts reminding students of their First Amendment rights. This effort is being funded in part by an Inglehart Grant made possible by the Society of Professional Journalists, College Media Association and Student Press Law Center.
