Hispanic-Serving Institution Research Development Coalition (HSIRDC)

The Hispanic-Serving Institution Research Development Coalition (HSIRDC) aims to foster a collaborative and innovative environment for research and development that addresses the unique needs and challenges of Hispanic-Serving Institutions (HSIs). By leveraging the collective expertise of faculty, staff, and students, the HSIRDC will focus on advancing scholarly research, enhancing educational practices, and promoting institutional effectiveness to better serve our students. 

Objectives 

  1. 1. Promote Collaborative Research: Facilitate interdisciplinary research projects that explore critical issues affecting Hispanic students and HSIs. 
2. Enhance Educational Practices: Develop and implement evidence-based teaching and learning strategies that support the academic success of Hispanic students. 
3. Support Professional Development: Provide training and resources for faculty and staff to enhance their understanding of Hispanic-servingness and cultural competency. 
4. Increase Grant Acquisition: Identify and secure funding opportunities to support research initiatives and institutional projects focused on Hispanic student success. 
5. Disseminate Research Findings: Share research outcomes through publications, conferences, and community engagement to inform policy and practice at HSIs. 

Any faculty or staff member who has, or will, pursue research within the context of Hispanic or Minority-Serving Institutions. The main focus of this group is to produce and magnify the HSI research being produced at Texas Tech University. Anyone who wants to pursue or support HSI research is encouraged to attend.
