You may have recently received a letter from Covenant Health notifying you that they are currently in contract negotiations with Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas (BCBSTX). While these types of negotiations between healthcare systems and insurance providers are common, there is a possibility that a new agreement may not be reached before the current contract ends on July 31, 2025. If an agreement is not finalized by that date, Covenant Health facilities and care providers will be considered out-of-network starting August 1, 2025.
Texas Tech Physicians is working closely with the University by offering several support services to assist you and your family with transitioning care from Covenant providers.
Continuity-of-care may be available for certain serious health conditions. To being this process, your Covenant provider may help initiate a request. You may also contact a local representative at 806-725-6663.
Texas Tech Physicians representatives will be available in person to offer personalized support with transferring medical records, scheduling appointments, and addressing any other related needs. Their on-campus availability is as follows:
