Seeking Producers for Research Study
Rooted in Reality: Producer Perspectives on Media Representation and Rural Mental Health
Texas Tech University, Department of Agricultural Education and Communications

This study seeks to understand how media portrayals of agriculture compare to producers' lived experiences. The questions will explore how producers feel these portrayals influence stereotypes and the public's perception of the industry, as well as any mental health challenges they may face as a result of the media or the agricultural lifestyle. We know that talking about mental health can feel personal, and we want you to know that your privacy matters to us. If you choose to take part in this study, everything you share will be kept private. Your name won’t be connected to anything you say, and only our research team will see the responses. When we share what we learn from this study, we’ll talk about overall themes—not individual stories—so no one will know what you personally said. We're here to listen, not to judge, and we’ll do everything we can to make sure you feel safe and respected throughout the process.

We are looking for: individuals 18 or older with current or past experience in agricultural production in any capacity
What participation looks like: A 30-60 minute interview (Zoom or in-person, depending on location)
